Susan will be gradually retiring from massage therapy beginning in 2025.  She has worked diligently for her clients and is ready to spend more time with her family.  Susan appreciates all her loyal clients more than she can express.  She leaves them in the very capable and caring hands of Courtney Johnson and Jen O'Neill.

 

A native of Stokes County, NC, Susan’s love of the spa industry started at only three years old when walking on her grandfather's back for dimes. In 1993 Susan went to school for cosmetology, esthetics, and massage therapy as something to fall back on after she retired from the Air Force. Susan came from an aviation family so it was in her blood.  A love of flying started with her first lesson at 14 yrs old at the Walnut Cove air strip where she began planning for a flight career in the Air Force. In 1996 her aviation career was cut short due to health issues. 

 

That’s when Heavenly Reflections was born as a mobile home-based spa business. The rest is history. A few locations took off from there until 2022 when the decision was made to downsize and combine the spas into the long-standing location at 127 North Main Street in Walnut Cove, NC.

     

Susan’s passion for the medical arts side of the business shows through with the amount of long-standing clientele and many areas of certification over the years. Although she enjoys getting out of the massage therapy room from time to time to cut hair or do a pedicure, her love of massage and esthetics kept her in the spa area. Her nurturing, friendly personality has been shining through for over 28 years in this industry, and she hopes to continue sharing that passion with younger therapists coming into the business.  When asked what her style can be classified as Susan's response was….” a hybrid of sorts” due to the many modalities I’ve certified in over the years!
